Our weekend began with the Kite Festival on the National Mall. I look forward to this every year, and while we've lived here for eight years I've never brought a kite. I know, silly. This was the year I finally had enough forethought to bring a kite. The kids were super excited until it crashed and broke beyond repair. I even had an extra kite with me just in case, and it failed as well. Alice was quick thinking and took the wooded dowels of the kite and tied the kite streamers to them and gave them to the other kids. Problem solved. She'll be a good mom in....15 years.
We had a man down for Easter Sunday. Mark stayed home because of an ear infection, hence the camouflage jammies.
