My Baby Girl

Alice is six years old today!!! I can't believe it's here already. She's such a great kid, big sister, and friend. I'm proud of the choices she makes and I enjoy her companionship. Gush, gush, gush, I love her.

Little Dancer

Alice takes a ballet/tap dance class, and every so often the mommies are invited to come in and observe the class. Each lesson a child at random is picked to be the dancer of the day. They get to wear on old recital costume, tiara, and be the teacher's helper. Lucky for me, Alice was picked the day I was there:)

Lazy Daisy

We fell to the dark side and bought a dog. I was surprised by how much I really liked her from the beginning. She's a nice lazy dog with a very mild manner about her. She's 3 months and learning the basic commands. Since Justin and I are both sick we took the day to lay around and take turns napping. Daisy just followed me around and tried to not get squished by the kids. They really love her and were so surprised when we told them she was ours to keep.

Squishy

Alice has always been on the scrawny side, but in August she had her tonsils out which shifted the cosmos in her favor. I took her to the doctor yesterday and she's gained eight pounds in about three months. Now she's up to the 15th percentile, yippie!

I love easy mornings. Both my girls are awake, but they haven't cried or peeked out yet. They are just laying in their beds singing songs to each other in sweet little voices. There's no way I'm going in to mess that up. Since I can't post a picture of that, here are some of my random favorites.

Old Friends

I was lucky enough to spend all day Saturday with one of my old roommates from college. She's a sterling gal who has two great little kids and a hard working soldier husband. She turns the big 3-0 this week. Happy birthday, Meredith.

Zzzzzzzz

One more thing I'm thankful for...

Happy Thanksgiving

It seems I'm usually a little bit late in wishing well when it comes to holidays. Oh well, Happy Thanksgiving. We've always gone somewhere for the day, but not this time. The cooking was up to me this Thanksgiving. I don't want to brag but.....holy cow, that was good! Granted I was in the kitchen ALL day, but the meal turned out really well. My husband gave me the ultimate food compliment, "This turkey is better than my Mom's". I was pleased, although it's not my goal to upstage my mother-in-law's cooking. She's a very good cook. Sorry Mom-in-law, but the turkey did rock.

Anyway, I'm thankful for so many things. There's the obvious, my family and healthy children, roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, good health insurance etc. I'm also thankful for hulu.com, bath sheets, that black nailpolish is in style for preppy folk, the dollar spot at Target, lip gloss of any kind, a vacuumed out car, and countless other little things that make life nice. We don't live a flashy life, but I like the life we have. That's a good place to be I've decided.
By the way, that's a picture of my little brother and his wife. He's so big it's hard to tell there is a Christmas tree behind him.

Better Late than Never

I just love the way little people talk.

Here it is

This little blog is for the handful of friends who want to keep track of our boring lives. I recommended reading a book, but you can't please everyone. So, here we go. First things first, I might talk a lot in person, but not so much when it comes to writing on the computer. I'm more of a picture person. I love my kids like crazy and I assume everyone should too. So let's get the ball rolling.
