Wanna know what we did this holiday season?...read on.
Laura and I took a mommy-daughter trip to Hershey, PA. We stayed over night in a hotel, bought chocolate, ate chocolate, went to the amusement park to ride the rides, and froze our buns off. Good times.
One Sunday evening we went to the D.C. temple to see the lights and the visitor's center. It's not like Salt Lake, but it was still nice. They do a nice job putting the lights up. I don't have the patience to do that, but I appreciate the work of others:)
Christmas day was really nice. Justin and I got to sleep in until 9:00am, yippie. The kids were so excited to open their gifts and play. Alice colored most of the day, Laura explored her new toys. Then some good friends invited us to dinner. It was a very mellow day, not what I'm used to on Christmas day. Someone is usually in bed with a headache by 3:00.
Then Justin and Alice went to Utah to see some more family. Laura and I stayed home and stared at each other for a week. It was very lonely without them, but Alice had the chance to build stronger relationships with cousins she only gets to see once a year or so.
Now we're all back together and all is well. Alice is back to school, Justin back to work, and the rest of us are just plugging along as normal. Happy new year to all.
